How to Enable International Dialing Fraud Mitigation Service

Purpose

This guide provides instructions on how to configure Star2Star’s International Dialing Fraud Mitigation Service for a customer’s location. 

Calls to Hawaii and the continental US will not require the extension level to be set to Allow International Rate Calls.

Calls to Alaska and Canada will require the extension level to be set to Allow International Rate Calls.

Process Overview:

  1. Access the International Dialplan Configuration Page
  1. Add Dial Codes
  1. Save the location’s International Dialplan
  1. Enable International Calling
  1. Save Changes to System

Accessing the International Dialplan Configuration Page:

  1. Log in to the Star2Star Portal
  1. Navigate to the Configuration page via the menu at the top of the page
  1. Search and select a Location
  1. Under the Advanced Settings section, select the International Dialplan Configuration option

Adding Standard Dialcodes to the locations Whitelist

  1. On the right side of the page, is a list of “ Available International Dialcodes ”.
  1. Find the dialcode to be added to the locations Whitelist and click the “ Enable” button.
    1. Once enabled, the selected dialcode will be moved from the “Available International Dialcodes” list to the “Location Whitelist”.
  1. To filter the available Dialcodes, enter a country name or dialcode in the Filter field above the available list.

Creating Custom Dialcodes

  1. In the filter field above the available list on the right side of the page enter the desired partial dialcode or phone number.
  1. If the number/dialcode doesn’t exist the entered value will be displayed with the option to enter a custom name for the dialcode.
  1. Enter the “ custom name “ of the dialcode and then click the “ Enable “ button to add the custom dialcode to the Location Whitelist.

Removing Dialcodes from the Location WhiteList

  1. In the Location Whitelist , find the dialcode to be removed.
  1. Click the “ Disable “ button.
    1. Standard dialcodes will be moved from the “Location Whitelist” to the “Available International Dialcode” list.
    1. Custom dialcodes will be removed from the Dialplan.

Copy an existing location’s WhiteList to a different location

Notes :

  1. A location's Dialplan can only be copied to another location within the same customer.
  1. The destination location’s existing Dialplan will be overwritten.
  1. At the top of the page select the location that has the existing Dialplan that is to be copied.
  1. In the “ Copy whitelist to location ” field select th e location within the same customer where the Dialplan is to be copied to.
  1. Once the copy to location has been selected the “ Copy Diaplan button will appear, but will be disabled.
  1. To Enable the “Copy Dialplan” button the user must:
    1. Click on the “ terms and conditions “ link and read the entire document.
    1. Click the “I accept all the terms and conditions” checkbox .
    1. The “Copy Dialplan button will be enabled.
  1. Click the “ Copy Dialplan ” button.
  1. After the copy has completed a message is displayed confirming the copy was completed,
  1. Click the “ OK ” button.
  1. If the same Dialplan is to be copied to another location, repeat steps 2 through 7.

Saving the location’s International Dialplan

Note : The changes will not be effective until these additional steps are also completed.

  1. International Calling is enabled (See the “Enabling International Calling” section below).
  1. Save Change to System (See the “Save Change to System” Section below)
  1. Once the Location Whitelist has changed the “Save Changes button will appear above the WhiteList, but will be disabled.
  1. To Enable the “Save Changes” button do the following:
    1. Click on the “ terms and conditions “ link and read the entire document.
    1. Click the “I accept all the terms and conditions” checkbox.
    1. The “Save Changes button will be enabled.
  1. Click the “ Save Changes” button.

Note: These c hanges will not take effect until the “ Enabling International Calling” and the “Save Changes to System” steps below have been completed.

 

Saving Changes To Systems:

  1. Prerequisites:
    1. Please ensure the location’s WhiteList is complete and has been Saved .
    1. Please ensure International Calling has been Enabled for the location.
  1. Click “ Save Changes to System
