Update a User's Profile in the SD-WAN Portal

Purpose

Note: This guide pertains to the Star2Star SD-WAN powered by Bigleaf product and is referred to as "SD-WAN" within this document.

This guide provides information and instructions for updating a User's Profile in the SD-WAN portal. For more information on SD-WAN, reference the SD-WAN articles in the Star2Star Knowledge Base.

Update SD-WAN User Profile

Follow the steps below to update a User's Profile :

  1. Access the SD-WAN portal via this link: Star2Star SD-WAN powered by Bigleaf
  1. Log in to the portal with a Username and Password.

  1. From the Home page, select Account ( Missing image link-2), located at the top of the page.

The Account page displays with the User's current Profile settings.

  1. The profile page has 3 sections the User can update: User Info, Alert Notification and Reset Password.

Note: For the appropriate field, click the Information ( Missing image link-5) icon to view more information.

User Info

Edit the appropriate fields and click the Update button at the bottom of the section when finished.

  1. Full Name - User's full name. User's name also displays at the top of the page.
  1. Email - User's email address.
  1. Username - User's login/Username.
  1. Time Zone - User's time zone, e.g., EST (Eastern Standard Time).
  1. 12-hour or 24-hour clock - Selecting the checkbox displays time as 1-12 a.m./p.m. or 1-24. Example: 11:59 p.m. or 23:59.
  1. Monthly Reports - Selecting the checkbox allows the User to receive monthly reports.

Alert Notifications

Edit the appropriate fields and click the Update button at the bottom of the section when finished.

  1. Email Alerts - Selecting the checkbox enables Users to receive email Alerts and to update any of the Alert Notification options. Once selected, the Alert Notification options become available for updating.
  1. Alerting Type - Either send an Alert on every change to the User's sites and circuits (latency, loss and jitter metrics), or send a periodic, per-site email of those changes, combined into a readable snapshot.

  1. Alert Delay - The required time to wait before notifying the User of an Alarm level change. Higher values may reduce the amount of Notifications.
    1. Provided in either Seconds, Minutes, Hours.
  1. Re-Notification Frequency - How often the User is notified of ongoing issues that persist for the set duration of time.
    1. Provided in either Seconds, Minutes, Hours, Days.
    1. Higher values reduce the number of Notifications.
  1. Severity Threshold - The slider bar determines the Severity level of Alarms to inform the User. Higher values reduce the number of Notifications. The following Severity levels represent the conditions for when to send Alarm Notifications:
    1. 1 - Any imperfect behavior is detected (verbose).
    1. 2 - Slowdowns occur on your network (recommended).
    1. 3 - Noticeable slowdowns occur on your network.
    1. 4 - Impactful slowdowns occur on your network.
    1. 5 - Degraded network performance occurs.
    1. 6 - Greatly degraded network performance occurs.
    1. 7 - Unusable network conditions are detected.
  1. Email Format - Determines Notifications format.
    1. HTML emails - Includes color-coding and better visual cues.
    1. Plain Text emails - Contains plain text, only.

Reset Password

Update the following fields to change the User's password. When finished, click the Reset button.

  1. Old Password - Enter old/current Password.
  1. New Password - Enter new Password.
  1. Repeat New Password - Re-enter new Password.

Note: Forgotten Passwords can be reset from the Login page.
